About the Nexarina Project

I worked on the Nexarina project in February 2024. Mikayla, the founder of Nexarina, developed an amazing, size inclusive line of outerwear for women. I loved getting to know the client, the brand and am excited to see them launch into retail.

Like every project, we started with a Booster- a 90-minute deep dive into their business. During the Booster, I developed their retail strategy and high level ideas for their wholesale messaging. The client loved the strategy and we dove right in! My team and I delivered Nexarina’s wholesale landing page, catalogue, sales sheet, a list of their ideal retailers (with contact info), pitch emails and an optimized Faire store - all under one month!

Beauty Product - A Case Study

 

How It Started

My client, R, had a successful beauty product that was seeing some great sales in DTC. She wanted to sell the product to retailers and had tried many things, including flying her and her staff to a trade show. The trade show was time-consuming and expensive and didn’t bring in enough sales to even cover all of their expenses.

She also set up her line on Faire, but didn’t get a single order. 

She had a great product, but she struggled to get traction in getting the line into stores. So, she came to me for help.

The first step in working with me is to do a Faire Booster. This is where we do a 90 minute interview to dive deep into your business, so I can understand your goals and identify what you need to start doing and stop doing to get there. R was impressed with the plan and recommendations I delivered and hired me to complete the work.

What I Did

I started with retailer-focused messaging. I developed a strong message hierarchy that could be use throughout all of the client’s wholesale assets.

The brand had great packaging, but their branding wasn’t cohesive, so my team and I developed an elevated look and feel to their visuals, too.

I also developed a launch plan and delivered a list of ideal retailers with contact info (these get uploaded to Faire), launch emails (copy and graphics), a sales sheet and an optimized Faire store.

It took me just one week to deliver all the assets.

It’s been two weeks since R went live with this new approach and here’s where things are at.

How It’s Going

Within two weeks of relaunching, R received 9 orders and 23 sample requests!

Going from 0 to 9 is a pretty big win and this is just the beginning.  Keep in mind that wholesale is all about the ongoing relationship - one account can mean years of re-orders.

Offering samples was part of our launch strategy. The client had a great product, but was having trouble with wholesale in general, so we wanted to see how much interest they could get by offering free samples. A sample request = hot lead.

I estimate that with the right approach, 75% or more of those accounts will place an order and become long term clients.
